I don’t usually
post about events this far in advance (although I probably should), but since
this one falls in the busy holiday season, we all might need a little more time
to plan for it.
Consider a poetic
respite from the busy-ness of mid-December: pause for the last of this year’s
quarterly readings at the Loveland Museum.
Titled “On
Winter’s Margin,” after a poem
by Mary Oliver, the afternoon offers readings and music (and refreshments)
to warm you.
Headlining are
a variety of outstanding regional poets; I don’t have names yet, but the
quality of the artists at these events has been remarkable.
And a half-hour
open mic offers anyone interested 2-minutes to share a poem, story, reflection
or song.
Come celebrate
the scarcity and promise at the margin of dark and light just ahead of the shortest
day of the year.
Give this gift to yourself Sunday,
December 15 from 1:00 to 3:00 at the Loveland Museum.
