Downtown Loveland is the Place to be this Thursday Evening August 21!

Great opportunity to catch multiple art and word-related events this Thursday evening, August 21.

First is what promises to be a fascinating presentation about the work of the late artist Gene Hoffman. Mark Fetkewitz, Associate Professor of Art at UNC, and Sue Tungate, Hoffman's wife, will lead this informal talk.  Hoffman’s work features many found objects, as does the work of Jerry Barrish who currently has a show at the museum.  The Loveland Museum owns a few of Hoffman’s works including the Wisenheimer Altered Piece, an impressive rusted metal triptych which you see if you look up just as you enter the museum.  The talk is free and begins at 5:30 at
the Loveland Museum and Gallery.

Follow this with the artist’s reception for the exhibit “There’s No Place Like Home” at Artworks—not far from the museum.  Doors open at 6:30 and  Becky Hawly, the artist, will give a short talk at 7.  Immediately following that, Veronica Patterson will read a few of her works inspired by and accompanying the show “Ink,” featuring visual art by Andrew Svedlow, also on display at Artworks.

 What a perfectly lovely evening!
