Thursday is National Poem in Your Pocket Day. Carry a favorite little poem in your pocket to share with family, friends, co-workers. Read all about it at Poetry.org : http://www.poets.org/page.php/prmID/406
Here is what will be in my pocket (Thanks, Roni Patterson, for bringing this one to my attention).
The Dancers Inherit the Party
by Ian Hamilton Finlay
When I have talked for an hour I feel lousy—
Not so when I have danced for an hour:
The dancers inherit the party
While the talkers wear themselves out and sit in corners alone, and glower.
And don't forget the big poetry reading tonight, 7 p.m., Fort Collins at the Harmony Library on the FRCC campus. Featured poets include Michael Bussmann, Matthew Cooperman, Aby Kaupang, Matthew Sage, Dona Stein, Bill Trembley, and Lisa Zimmerman
