October Brings Open Mics, Readings and Workshops

‘Hope that some of you were able to attend last week’s quarterly reading at the Loveland Museum, a celebration of autumn in poetry, music and storytelling.  We can now look forward to the winter installment.

Several other great writing events are coming up.  Tonight is the monthly open mic night at Artisan's Kitchen in downtown Loveland, 243 East 4th Street.   Signup and settle in at 6:30; the reading begins at 7.

Tomorrow (Saturday, October 1) is the first workshop in the Encountering a Poet Series sponsored by the Loveland Poet Laureate.  Lynn Kincanon, Loveland’s current Laureate, will guide writers in an exploration of poet Naomi Shihab Nye.  Pre-registration is encouraged for this FREE event: lovlib.org/events.

And next weekend, October 8 & 9, is a festival of poetry at Wolverine Farm Publick House in Fort Collins.  The event supports the important work of small presses.  A variety of Middle Creek Publishing authors will give free readings, workshops with small fees and will have their publications available for purchase.  For a full list of events over the weekend, visit middlecreekpublishing.com
