If you are ready to re-enter in-person poetry (or even if you are not), Four Voices, Four Visions this Thursday, October 15 should be on your calendar.
Part of the Loveland Poet Laureate Reader’s Series,
this event brings together four poets with Colorado connections: Bhanu Kapil, Juan Morales, Seth and Low.
--Bhanu Kapil will join the reading from England where
she is writing through the pandemic and is the recent recipient of the 2020
Windham Campbell literary prize. Author of numerous collections, including How
to Wash a Heart, Kapil splits her time between England and Northern Colorado.
--Born to an Ecuadorian mother and Puerto Rican
father, Juan Morales grew up on family stories that have inspired his poetry,
especially those collected in his first book Friday and the Year that Followed (2006). Morales lives in Pueblo where he curates the
Southern Colorado Reading Series.
--Poet, performer, producer and teacher, Seth has been collaborating with other creative artists for more than 20 years. Based in Denver, his work is collected in A Black Odyssey.
--Low grew up in Aurora where he processed the struggles within his community by listening to the music of Marvin Gaye and All-4-One and writing poetry. He especially fell in love with the Spoken Word form.
The reading will be held live in Loveland at
the Rialto Theater and also Live streamed.
