Loveland High School Poetry Contest Winners

What does a poet laureate do?  Champion poetry.

And that is exactly what Veronica Patterson, Loveland’s First Poet Laureate, has done with this year’s High School Poetry Contest.

Participants will be honored in a reading, Celebrating Emerging Voices, 2 p.m. this Sunday, May 17.

You can read the three winning poems on the Loveland Poet Laureate site.

Patterson commented that “the quality of the poems was high.”  The final judge was poet and University of Northern Colorado English Professor Lisa Zimmerman.

Connection information for Sunday's reading, broadcast over Zoom, will be published on the Loveland Poet Laureate site soon.
