National Poetry Month Going Out with a Roar! Big Events April 25 and 26

On Wednesday, April 25, local poets, including Matthew Cooperman, Cassie Eddington, Marj Hahn, Nancy Jakobsson, Mary Kay Knief and Veronica Patterson, will be sharing poems written in response to work of art of their choice, at, appropriately Artworks on Railroad.  At the civilized time of 6:00-7:30 p.m.  Nothing like a little ekphrasis to whet your appetite for dinner at one of downtown Loveland’s great restaurants.
Then, on Thursday, start your evening (5-7) with an International Poetry reading at Avogadros in Fort Collins.  Languages represented include American Sign, Arabic, Basque, Czech, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swahili.  You will be able to listen to the music of the poetry in the original language and then understand it more fully in translation.
You can scoot out of there and over to the Student Center on campus just in time (7:30) for the second event of the evening—a reading and National Book Critics Circle Award winner, Ross Gay. Maybe you could even pick up one of his three books to read from before sleep and make it a triple header!
