Spring Salon, your challenge this week is to do one of the following:
1. Inspired by Lee Robinson's "Cantaloupe," (see Writer's Almanac: http://writersalmanac.publicradio.org/index.php?date=2009/07/18), write something that includes, or is inspired by a fruit (or even a vegetable!) Maybe it is a simple description of its lusciousness, maybe it is the smoking gun in a murder mystery, maybe a metaphor for some human emotion.
2. Inspired by James Doyle’s poem “Vitamins” (http://judithpordon.tripod.com/poetry/james_doyle_vitamins.html), write your own personal ad, but shake it up a bit by making it for something OTHER than a romantic partner. Maybe you are seeking a grandparent: what are you looking for and why would you be a desirable grandchild (remember the persona need not actually be YOU!) Or maybe you are trolling for the perfect pet or some abstract concept: White male seeks ability to resist gravitational pull of Corvette as he approaches middle age . . .
3. Respond to a previous prompt
4. Write anything you want
5. Revise something written for a previous prompt (or for any reason at all!)
